The Vancouver fundraising office is one of the key fundraising centres in the company. Located in the historic Dominion Building and surrounded by dozens of non profits and foundations, Public Outreach Vancouver is recognized as the leader in monthly donor recruiting for western based organizations.

We are currently hiring a new Fundraising Manager. This is a wonderful opportunity for the individual who is organized and self-directed, and who has successfully demonstrated their ability to manage fundraising response, volume, and admin efficiency. As a manager the ideal candidate has an intuitive understanding of staff morale and other aspects of staff management, as well as recruiting, project planning and project management, new client start-up, and other skills required for the successful running of a Fundraising office.

This is an office approaching 800 fundraising hours a week, with over 40 staff (and about half as many supervisors) working on street, door, mall and the pfu fundraising programs. There is an 8 line dedicated phone room for both PFU and the occasional contract phoning. Staff Support includes a full time Phone Program Supervisor, a full time Door Program Supervisor, a full time Admin Support person (40% fundraising %), as well as supervisors proficient in recruiting, scheduling, training, client management and new start ups.

DUTIES
- Overseeing an appropriate recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation program to ensure that standards are achieved and contracts completed within an agreed upon timeline.

- Overseeing staff scheduling, turf management and ensuring that all staff are actively fundraising to the levels spelled-out in their job descriptions.

- Coordinating the efforts of the supervisors, trainers and administrative staff – through regular meetings and honest, consistent communication – to best service both the clients, and the donors.

- Maintain a personal level of fundraising that is at least 25% of overall time worked on a weekly basis.

- Fostering an environment of honesty, respect, and effectiveness (while not forgetting to have fun!)

- Ensuring that all donations are accurate, complete, confidential and delivered to the client in the appropriate manner.

- Obtaining permits and licenses where necessary from the respective municipal authorities and ensuring good working relations within the community.

- This is an equal opportunity employment offer and we encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. The ideal candidate should:

o Be flexible, able to easily adapt to new systems and procedures
o Have discernment and the ability to prioritize
o Be highly energetic and flexible with the ability to thrive in challenging situations.
o Be results-driven with the ability to motivate others.

Public Outreach INDIA is looking for two senior staff members to begin fundraising in India no later than September, with paid training to begin immediately. As the team and business grows these people will be the first candidates for supervisor, training and management positions. Therefore, we are looking for superior candidates. We plan on spending time from now, until September giving our selected candidate(s) a crash course in everything that is Public Outreach.

The ideal candidate will:
Be a native speaker of Hindi, and be willing and able to work in India for 3-6 months
Be an above average fundraiser, preferably with multiple media and/or client experience.
Be great with numbers, with a clear understanding of PO’s targets and performance indicators.
Have the ability to give feedback and get people’s buy-in.
An understanding of learning methods and/or management techniques is a plus.
Have an understanding and value for the culture and beliefs of Public Outreach.
Be detail-oriented. You should be accurate and thorough in all the work that you do.

Be professional, trustworthy and ethical.
Be trained how to represent one or more of our clients.
Be responsible for leading teams in their city or town. Duties may include hiring and training, managing staff, logistics, quality control and fundraising with the public.
Have an entrepreneurial spirit. (You could end up running your own office, or more.)

Qualifications:
Able to travel and work in India. (We’ll take care of the work visas and travel permits.)
Be highly energetic, positive and a natural problem solver
View challenges as an opportunity.
Be results driven, with the ability to motivate others.
Have experience recruiting and training staff.
Ability to lead by example. A top fundraiser that shows staff how easy it is to fundraise by exceeding targets whenever they fundraise (and that will be often).
