Greater Toronto Area Fundraising Manager

Status: Full Time (up to 40 hours per week)

The GTA Fundraising Manager is THE professional development experience waiting to happen for the right candidate. This is not an office position.

The GTA Fundraising Manager should be an enthusiastic and successful fundraiser, with a willingness to help others improve; and an expansionist, with the desire to start and grow new Street and Door Fundraising operations. The ideal candidate has experience with both street and door, is able to effortlessly fundraise at least 35% of their time, and will enjoy continuous travel across the GTA. Possessing a car or a drivers license is preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Looking for suitable fundraising locations and setting up small GTA offices/depots;
• Hiring fundraising and management staff in various locations;
• Managing, assisting and motivating all GTA offices, and/or as directed;
• Staff Training, motivation, response management, discipline / firing;
• Developing and implementing effective in office/on turf training methods;
• Acting as a liaison between the Regional Coach and GTA Office Managers;
• Providing support including weekly meetings;
• Fundraising Response Management;
• Fundraising Volume Management;
• Maintain fundraising standards and client representation as determined by the Regional Coach;
• Developing and implementing an effective turf rotation for each client;
• Understanding and respecting work ethics and procedures;
• Promoting a nurturing and positive atmosphere within the office and within fundraising crews;
• Completing all necessary forms and paperwork in a timely manner;
• Promoting a positive reflection of Public Outreach and of its outreach and fundraising program;
• This position is Full Time and requires a minimum commitment of 37.5 hrs per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week (5 shifts). Working hours are regularly scheduled between 10:00 – 11:00 am to 6:00-7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of an occasional weekend shift as directed by the FM. Working hours must accommodate both Street hours and Door hours. With several shifts ending at 9:15 pm or later as per Door supervisor support
• Wage starts at $17.00 per hour with a 6 month review with possibility of wage increase determined by accomplishment of goals set by Line Manager

PFU Program Supervisor, VANCOUVER

The purpose of the position of the PFU Supervisor is to facilitate the work of and provide management for PFU Fundraising Supervisors, Representatives and New Recruits at Public Outreach so that fundraising goals can be achieved.

Reports to: Anna Beard, Vancouver Fundraising Manager

Responsibilities may include:
  • Hiring, firing and disciplining employees
  • Establishing or altering work schedules;
  • Training employees;
  • Authorizing time off or leaves of absence;
  • Ensuring that all donations are accurate, complete, confidential, and delivered to the Admin Co-ordinator in the appropriate manner;
  • Ensuring good working relations within the community;
  • Fundraising Response Management;
  • Turf Management for the crew;
  • Wage is $14/hr;
  • Full Time

Victoria Door Fundraising Supervisor

This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of a growing Door program in the beautiful city of Victoria.

The purpose of the position of the Door Supervisor is to facilitate the work of and provide management for Fundraising Representatives at Public Outreach so that fundraising goals can be achieved during the contracted period.

Reports to: Victoria Manager

Duties Include: Door Crew Management, Various Office and Training Duties

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Staff Recruiting, Hiring, Disciplining and Firing;
  • Staff Management including Door Representatives & New Recruits;
  • Staff Scheduling;
  • Staff Training;
  • Ensuring that all donations are accurate, complete, confidential, and delivered to the Admin Coordinator appropriately;
  • Ensuring good working relations within the community;
  • Fundraising Response Management;
  • Turf Management for the crew.

  • Fundraising minimum 65% of working hours

Direct Dialogue Team Leader
The Toronto Direct Dialogue Team Leader position is THE professional development experience waiting to happen for the right candidates.

This is not an office position.
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about canvassing, with the ability lead by example and coach others while helping to improve their skills in the realm of face to face fundraising.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing, Assisting and Motivating DD Fundraising staff along with the DD Program Manager;
  • Building and Developing teams while maintaining consistency and reaching fundraising targets throughout the course of the Summer;
  • Staff Hiring, Discipline and Firing;
  • Staff Training;
  • Developing and implementing effective in office/on turf training methods;
  • Acting as a liaison between the DD Program Manager and your Canvassers;
  • Providing Support including weekly meetings with Canvassers and the DD Program Manager
  • Fundraising Response Management;

  • Oversee the professional representation of clients by Public Outreach standards;

TRAVEL OPPORTUNITY

Toronto’s Door-to-Door Program is looking for experienced supervisors to join their team for two weeks in late April!

Individuals will provide support Toronto’s Door-to-Door Program in making the exciting transition from two to four concurrently running campaigns. Clients include Doctors without Borders, AIDS Committee of Toronto and CARE International.

Shifts will run from 2:30 pm to 9:15 pm with supervisors starting at 1:00 pm and finishing at 10:30 pm, four days a week.

This is an excellent and equal opportunity for individuals interested in gaining valuable training and traveling experience in preparation for further leadership possibilities!

  • Lead crews, including briefing, start times, breaks, and quality control (cashouts, PFU leads) while maintaining consistency and reaching fundraising targets;

  • Presenting information about all clients contracted to Public Outreach through the Door Outreach initiative in a clear and concise manner;
