CALGARY DOOR PROGRAM MANAGER

Door to door fundraising is proven as one the most effective means of engaging our communities, exploring our cities and understanding the areas where we live. We are currently seeking a Program Manager to run a door fundraising program in one of Public Outreach’s most profitable offices.


LOCATION: Calgary

REPORTS TO: Fundraising Manager Calgary

STARTING: As soon as possible

STATUS: Full Time Permanent: Every two weeks-Maximum 88 Hours, Minimum 74 Hours.

STARTING WAGE: $16.00/hour

PURPOSE
To oversee all operations, processes and staff related to the Door Program in the Edmonton Public Outreach office

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Effectively managing door to door canvassing crews and completing all paperwork efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all donations are complete, confidential and delivered to the charities we support in the appropriate manner.

• Coordinating the efforts of the supervisors and staff– through regular meetings and honest, consistent communication – to best service both the clients, and the donors.

• Maintaining set goals for donations, office volume and canvass %, with crews and for the entire program;

• Managing turf - map making, route planning and scheduling for canvassing staff;

• Obtaining in-depth knowledge of our clients, and representing them honestly, respectfully and effectively while maintaining high fundraising standards;

• Training new recruits on various clients, monitoring existing staff performance, and taking disciplinary actions when necessary;

• Training door Supervisors and regularly monitoring the shifts they lead;

• Building staff morale and maintaining a fun and positive working atmosphere, ensuring that all staff concerns and ideas are taken into consideration;

• Managing incentives, and a set budget;

• Constantly growing and evolving with clients needs, and promoting Public Outreach as a positive and integral Canadian fundraising organization;
• Any other duties as directed by the FM that reasonably are within the scope of the position

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES SHOULD:

- Be flexible, able to easily adapt to new systems and procedures
- Have discernment and the ability to prioritize
- Be highly energetic and flexible with the ability thrive in challenging situations
- Be results-driven with the ability to motivate others
- Have good oral communication and facilitation skills
- Have experience recruiting, training and managing staff
- Be motivated to go out and fundraise with the team on a regular basis
- Driver’s license and vehicle useful, but not necessary, position includes travelling with crews out in to Calgary’s suburbs.

Targets and Goals to be met consistently:

• Maintaining a minimum of 70% fundraising to admin ratio for the program.
• Maintain a minimum office fundraising response target of $3.50 Pac/Hour
• Maintain a personal level of fundraising, which is at least 80% of overall time worked.
